What is GPS?
The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a worldwide radio wave navigation system composed of 24 satellites. These satellites use ground stations to reference positions on the earth and to monitor functionality.They orbit 11,000 nautical miles above the Earth every 12 hours.
GPS Systems were developed by the United States military for direction of their missile defense system.
