Raven BPI Highlights
- Has on/off switch, USB port, AIS data port, bluetooth data link, and status LEDs.
- USB port: AIS data, configuration, diagnostics, and battery-charging.
- Battery-powered with 20+ hours of operation without charging. Software shows operation hours remaining.
- Automatically adapts to wrong AIS data baud rate. Software displays baud rate.
- Automatically adapts to wiring errors. Software displays wiring errors.
- Status LEDs can be dimmed from laptop for night operation.
Sub-Meter GPS Receiver Highlights
- Requires AC power and antenna must be set up outside with a good view of the sky.
- Less than 1 Meter RMS accuracy (less than 3.2 feet with Coast Guard beacon corrections) .
Important: Multi-path on a ship can diminish accuracy. Software warns when multi-path is affecting the position.
- Software reports GPS operational status, such as ‘antenna fault’ and ‘high HDOP’.
